Wind Academy by Siemens Gamesa is a 40,000 square-foot facility built according to U.S. LEED gold standards. The training center has a total of nine classrooms, two simulation labs, three climbing towers, two advanced rescue simulators, and two full size wind turbine nacelles. Wind Academy by Siemens Gamesa strives to deliver training that ensures the best possible learning outcome through continuous improvement of our physical facilities and also our teaching methods. The real heart of Wind Academy by Siemens Gamesa is our faculty. Our instructors can relate directly to students as they come from various educational and professional backgrounds. Many of our instructors have worked at wind farms as technicians, site leads, managers or on installation teams. In fact, even with a small cadre of instructors, there is over 100 years of wind industry experience and 120 years of instructional experience brought to the classroom. Many of these instructors also made the transition from military careers to renewable energy. They share their perspective and engage with students on how they adapted and utilized their military experience as a foundation to their work in the wind industry. Our management team and staff have a distinguished academic and professional background including higher education, instructional design, training, engineering, business and military experience.
